Lake Superior Agate	Lake Superior Agate Minnesota designated Lake Superior agate as the official state gemstone in 1969. An unusually beautiful quartz stone banded with rich red and orange colors (derived from iron ore in the soil), Lake Superior agates were dispersed by glaciers in the last Ice Age. Found in northeastern and north central Minnesota, most Lake Superior agates are pea-size but some are as big as bowling balls and weigh over 20 pounds.

Montana Moss Agate	Montana Moss Agate Although more translucent, and with different swirls and patterns, than Montana agate, our Montana moss agate draws from the same palette of warm tones. The red comes from iron oxide and the black from manganese oxide. It is found in the Yellowstone National Park area of Montana, U.S.A.

The Idaho plume agate slabs are of premium quality material from a new find in Custer County, Idaho. (Stock 527s) Note the plumes in green, gold, reddish tan, yellow, etc. in intricate shapes and patterns. This excellent agate is very dense and good quality, although a few fractures may be possible in some slabs. Slabs are approximately 3/16-1/4" thick. Note that more plumes are visible just under the surface. Polished cabochons are really superb! The slab of Idaho plume agate shown measures approximately 2" x 4.5"
